To friend or unfriend?

Image
This friendship’s day was a revelation – an enriching one. Three of my most important and best friends didn’t call me and neither did I. We (speaking for them too, cause I’m me) didn’t feel the need to call, exchange wishes and be in an awkward position after 30 seconds on what to discuss.

Turn On or Turn Off?

With a drink in his hand and a hidden smirk in his face, he approached her. She wasn’t shocked at all for guys had been making passes at her all night, but he was different. Her face lit up in the mildly lighted bar with a glazing smile.

What not to do in a relationship

Image
It takes two to make or break a relationship. Each one of us have had our share of crushes and infatuations in school and colleges, but being committed in love is a completely different thing altogether. Love is a very powerful emotion and when in love, you need to have proper control over this emotion and handle it with delicacy. There are many things that can be done to keep a relationship strong and moving, but there are also things which may cause differences and create a knot in the bond of love. Be it girls /women or boys/men, these are a must NO DO’s ;

Are you LinkedIn correctly?

Image
LinkedIn is a social networking site meant for professionals, but the student community too can reap several benefits from it. It is disheartening to see that the percentage of students on LinkedIn is comparatively lower than those on Facebook or Twitter. And those who do join aren't aware of the ways to connect effectively and use this excellent platform to their advantage. So here’s what students can do to establish a tangible online presence on LinkedIn. 1. LinkedIn is no Facebook : Always showcase yourself as a professional. Have a suitable email. Revealing too much personal information is not required. Your picture should also be a simple one (above shoulders) with clarity and a smile. 2. Profile matters : Don’t skip on the summary. Fill out all the essential details like – school, college, skills, activities, links to your blog etc. Also add any internship (paid or unpaid) or volunteer work experience. Highlight your role and include your skills. 3. Connec...

Facebook 1O1

Image
Facebook has revolutionized the world in many a ways. But for the youth, it still remains a means of having fun, spending time with friends, showing off and sharing stuff. Now, those of you who curious about this ‘ Fun ’ I've stated, this post is specifically meant for you all. I was bitten by the Facebook bug three years ago and so whatever I’m about to say is on a ‘ Been there, done that ’ basis. If you are addicted to Facebook and genuinely want to enhance your social networking status, read on. 1. Why do you think it’s called ‘Facebook’? Now don’t over think. It is because people want to see your face and not the pictures of famous people. For that they have Google. Click a picture of yourself and update it now. 2. Now, not any snap should be posted as a profile picture. It’s because people judge you by your display pic. These days there are companies who hire individuals on the basis of their social networking profiles. Therefore, you need to be cautious. ...

The Chickipedia Alert #1 - 7 Mantras for the Super Date

Image
The new college session has begun. The instant crushes, a month long infatuation, the peer pressure to have a so called ‘girlfriend/boyfriend’ will welcome these newbie’s at college. I don’t know about girls, but guys will need to care about a few things to make remarkably splendid first impressions. Why? Because there will always be more guys, but the number of worth dating girls in any college is always limited. True fact. Anyways, my main focus here is making guys aware of the points to make a note of while going on a date/dinner/coffee/outing with any girl – mothers and sisters may be exceptions. 1.  Don’t try too hard – Guys look foolish and desperate when they become too obvious. Of course you’ll have to make the first move, but try being a little subtle. This way you’ll know whether she’s interested or not. Girls are good at giving hints.   2.  Show off is bad – Trying to flaunt your new iPhone or Samsung tab may not work now. Girls are compar...

Ten Commandments for College Life

Image
COLLEGE- Here I Come !! Bidding adieu to my college life brought back a lot of memories. Things had changed a lot. Four years had transformed many of my batch mates. They seemed to have become completely different people. I too had evolved, for the better of course. College is an integral part of a student’s life. The mistakes made and the lessons learned will impact one’s future radically. Here are some of the lessons, misconceptions and tips that will help one adjust to the campus life and make him/her smart enough to take on the challenges with a broad smile. 1. Keep your mind wide open. Listen to everyone, but always act upon your thoughts. 2. Getting remarkable grades is good, but the world never ends there. Being involved in extra-curricular activities will always set you apart from the crowd. 3. Showing off is acceptable only when you have something to be proud of. Unnecessary flaunting will only make you look stupid. 4. Just because somebody can speak /ta...

Exam ke 7 FunDayz

Image
The depressed and cursing status updates on Facebook motivated me in writing this article. Why is it that when exams are around the corner the only expressions to be seen is a sad one? I find exams to be a very exciting time. How? Here is a list of reasons why I find Exams to be fun. If you all have observed it too then very well; else apply them in your exam schedule and you will find your frowns turning upside down.   I have always had a craving for delicious food during exams. My mom used to prepare my favourite delicacies the day before my papers. How I loved it. Even now, though I live in a hostel I always have a stock of chocolates and cakes during my semesters. Believe me - A satisfied stomach has a studious mind . P.S.- Alcohol doesn't count in this category.     Keeping the study space spotlessly clean. Have the exam timetable right in front of your eyes. I know boys; you will find this the most difficult thing (to believe and to put to practice) in t...
